  • A bug or not a bug? That`s question!

1)Well, in some of TOT games there are the techs, marked 'can never research' and 'can`t posess'.The first ones are clear: they are event given , and you can steal or trade it.
But in some readme (seems it was the one for patch) I read , that I must not be able to steal the ones, I 'can`t posess'. But in my recent SciFi game I stole three or four such ones , and it broke all the game - Seems , that aliens may not have Confederation, and it makes a challenge when you play for them , but I stole it, and it became easy.
    And also:
    2)In fantasy game:
I knew , from the embassy ,that some bad guys had dragon lore, I decided to steal it, my skald answered ' no new tech found' but I insisted, repeated the action , and got it!What`s up?

I can speak for the fantasy game. You may only obtain Dragon Lore by defeating a dragon in battle. You should not be able to steal it from another civilization. My question to is, "Have you installed the patch, yet?" We fixed a lot of this type of discrepency with the patch.

      Yes , I did !
I mean I did it before the events, described above.

I guess our fix for the patch didn't do the job. I'm sorry but it's probably too late now to do anything about it. Just consider the Dragon Lore an available technology.

Please disregard my last answer. I finally pinpointed what went wrong. To fix it, you need to meddle with the rules.txt file which I hope won't deter you.

It's a fairly simple surgery. First open the rules.txt file in the fantasy folder by double clicking on it. Find the Dragon Lore entry in the @CIVILIZE field. Note where the prerequisites are written nil, nil. Change them to read no,no. That's it and the problem should be gone.
